— 01 —The origin.
Vouch began as an internal tool built by a team of real estate professionals who have worked in real estate for the last five years. We sign a lot of documents. Leases, addenda, vendor work orders, move-in reports, lead disclosures, late notices. Often dozens per week. Sometimes from a job site. Sometimes from a kitchen table at six in the morning before the first showing.
We tried every major e-signature platform on the market. None of them fit. One charged extra for every addendum. Another didn't have a clean lease template flow. A third assumed we were closing a six-figure SaaS deal, not authorizing a $400 plumbing repair. Every platform treated audit trails as something you'd never look at — until you needed one for a tenant board hearing, when suddenly the export was a 40-page PDF with no structure.
So we built our own. Not as a software project — as a tool that needed to exist for the actual work to keep moving. After a year of using it on real leases, real vendor agreements, real move-out reports, we decided it was probably useful to other people too.
— 02 —Why this exists.
Most e-signature tools were built for sales teams in conference rooms — high-stakes, low-frequency contracts, processed by people whose entire job is processing contracts. That's a real market and the incumbents serve it well.
But there's a much larger group of people who don't fit that picture: contractors at job sites, freelancers in hotel rooms, photographers on tailgates, landlords at kitchen tables, and small-business operators who somehow have to do all of the above between two other meetings. Mobile-first. High-volume. Lower individual stakes. But every document needs to hold up if challenged years later.
That's the gap Vouch was built into. Not by accident — we are one of those people. The product reflects the way we actually work, because the way we actually work is what we tested it against.
— 03 —What's different about us.
The biggest unfair advantage Vouch has isn't a feature. It's that the people who built it are also using it on real production work, every day, in a business where the consequences of a sloppy signature land back on us. You can't fake that incentive. If a workflow doesn't work, we feel it the same week our customers do.
Beyond that, two things separate Vouch from the alternatives in concrete ways: a tamper-evident audit chain on every document, on every plan, and honest pricing that doesn't punish high-volume use — the audit trail is free on every tier, where most competitors charge extra for it.
— What we believe —Four principles, quietly held.
We don't have a manifesto. We have four things we keep coming back to when we make decisions about the product, the brand, and the business.
Trust by math, not by promise.
Most software companies ask you to trust them. We'd rather give you the math and step out of the way. The audit chain is cryptographically verifiable, not just a log we promise to maintain. You don't have to trust Vouch — you can check.
Built where the work happens.
Every workflow in Vouch was tested in our own portfolio before it was sold to anyone. If something is awkward in the product, we feel it ourselves the next time we use it. That keeps us honest about what to fix first.
Documentary quiet.
Software marketing tends toward the operatic. Big claims, urgent CTAs, fake countdowns. We aim for the opposite — quiet confidence, plain English, design that respects your attention. Like a good A24 film, not a Super Bowl ad.
Honest pricing.
No surprise overages. No "contact sales" gates on basic features. The price you see is what you pay, and the lower-priced tiers don't exist to push you toward the higher ones — they exist because they're useful on their own.
